Gundogan Shines as City Demolish Liverpool

German midfielder Ilkay Gundogan was the star of the match as Manchester City maintained their lead at the top. In a match played at Anfield, the Citizens beat Liverpool 4-1 to continue their good run.
The much anticipated match had last season’s top teams take on each other with Manchester City coming into the game as underdogs.
A man of the match performance from Gundogan, however, proved the difference as the midfielder scored twice during the game. Gundogan put the Citizens ahead in the 49th minute after failing to tuck in a penalty.
Gundogan then added missery to Liverpool even after Mohamed Salah had put them level on the 62nd minute through a penalty.
Manchester City were up 3-1 in the 76th minute when England International Raheem Sterling scored. Fellow Englishman Phil Foden also got into the action as he scored in the 84th minute.
This win established Manchester City’s lead at the top as the club now stands heads above Manchester United. Manchester United, who drew at Everton, failed to capitalize on the chance to get closer to their neighbors.
City now lead the table with 50 points having played a game less than their closest rivals.
