There has been a lot of uncertainty concerning the reopening of Universities this year as different institutions are yet to meet the ministry of health guidelines concerning the set reopening.

The Education cabinet secretary professor George Magoha announced early this month that Universities that will be allowed to reopen are only those that have complied to the ministry of health health guidelines and directives.

Today, as the cabinet of Education George Magoha toured Toured Asumbi Teachers and training colleges he announced that no University has been allowed to reopen during the period of Covid-19 Period.

This comes as even reports went viral that Chuka University had been cleared to reopen on August. Third year and fourth students were expected to report back to Campus at the end of Next month but under strict measures.

Prof George Magoha assessed the level of preparedness of Asumbi Teachers and training colleges starting from the lecture halls, water points, sleeping dormitories and other areas within the learning institutions.

The Education cabinet secretary has continued to encourage various learning institutions to ensure that they comply to the World health organization directives such as social distancing, sanitation amongst other measures.
