Garissa Senator Yusuf Haji Death Details Emerge

Garissa Senator Mohamed Yusuf Haji is dead. According to reports by The Standard on Monday February 15, the senator died while receiving medical care.
According to the family, Haji had been ailing for a while now and died at the Aga Khan hospital in Nairobi where he was receiving treatment.
The family also revealed that he had been flown outside the country for more expert medical care but was brought back to Aga Khan.
Haji was also chairman of the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) Task force at the time of his death.
The 80 year old also served as a Minister for Defense from 2008 to 2013 under former President Mwai Kibaki.
He was first nominated into parliament in 2002 and went on to become an MP for Ijara in 2007.
The senator will be remembered for always working towards peace and creating an environment that was condusive to live in.
