Despite of escalation of covid-19 positive cases in the country, the Ministry of education has insisted in ongoing learning of grade 4, class 8 and form 4 that had reopened. It has also underscored in reopening of other students who are at home despite of covid-19 surge.
Addressing yesterday, the cabinet secretary of education prof George Magoha affirmed grade 4, class 8 and form 4 Learners are safe in schools and they are working on possible on total reopening of other students. Reports outlines that President Uhuru Kenyatta is expected to hold talks on total schools reopening for other students at home as he set to address the state tommorow.
According to the reports, a high level meeting with president Uhuru tommorow will decide on the total reopening of schools as CS Magoha affirmed. Before letting known to Kenyans on total schools reopening, Magoha ascertains that after the meeting with the president, technocrats from the Ministry of education, health and Interior will engage other stakeholders
“We want to make sure that we make the right decision and open schools at the right time,” Prof Magoha said
However, despite of covid-19 surge, the Ministry of education under it’s cabinet secretary prof Magoha has hold not to shut down schools after reopening even after positive cases of covid-19 were recorded in some schools. The move on total reopening of schools shall be determined on the basis of deep talks with president Uhuru Kenyatta tommorow as reports indicates.
