Michael Joseph has been appointed as the new safaricom board chairman. This comes after the expiry of Nicholas Ng’ang’a who had served as the chairman for 13 years since 2007.
Michael Joseph served twice as telco’s chief Executive Officer. According to safaricom CEO Peter Ndegwa, Micheal Joseph will took over the new role as from 1st of August 2020. According to the reports no one understands Safaricom better than Micheal Joseph as he served twice as telco’s chairman and had been in the board for several years.
“He brings a wealth of skills and industry knowledge given his contribution to the growth of Safaricom from very humble beginnings to becoming one of the most innovative, influential and profitable companies in the East African region,” Safaricom CEO Ndegwa asserted.
It’s during Michael Joseph’s time that safaricom launches M-Pesa that’s a revolutionary money platform for sending and receiving money. According to further reports, Michael Joseph was a hard-working and committed man during his reign as the CEO.
