Starehe Mp Hon Jaguar went on to his twitter handle to demonstrate against the destruction of stalls and other properties Ownered by traders at Gikomba market.
Ruto allied blogger Dennis Itumbi joined forces with Kenyans and other Tanga Tanga leaders to urge the government to stop the action against Nairobi residents.
“I ask for an immediate halt to this exercise. NYS recruits should go home. Any security officer present in Gikomba should be there to guard the reconstructed stalls and other properties owned by traders. The govt exists to protect property. It should not oversee its destruction.” Hon Jaguar remarked
Jaguar was frustrated by the move by NMS Director -General Badi inspite of him having promised to compansate each trader with 10,000 each
Interior PS Karanja Kibicho accompanied by NMS Director-General Badi had promised Sh10,000 compensation for each trader who had lost property during the inferno. He didn’t say anything about demolition of reconstructed stalls. These actions are, therefore, suspect & insensitive.
Dennis Itumbi tweeted,, “.@NYS_Ke @DG_matilda why are you involved in literally crushing the dreams of hustlers whose only mistake is to work hard? @IG_NPS why are GSU officers supervising this crime in Gikomba? Harambee House Prefecture lift your knees from our dreams! @FredMatiangi @Karanjakibicho”
