Elon Musk beats Beezos to Become Richest Person on Earth

Elon Musk is now the richest person in the world after his net worth increased. According to reports by Forbes on Thursday January 7, Elon Musk beat Amazon CEO Jeff Beezos to the top spot.

Elon Musk the American entrepreneur behind the Tesla and SpaceX brands, overtook the business mogul and now is recorded as having a better net worth.

He has a net worth of $185 billion (Ksh20.25trillion). He unseats Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, who has held top slot since 2017.

After this declaration Elon Musk went on Twitter and quoted a tweet from his company’s handle that celebrated this new milestone. In the quote, Musk didn’t act surprised at all and simply asked the account manager to get back to work.

The Tesla CEO is of South African decent and is still a citizen of the country. He was born in the country before he moved to Ths United States.

The 49 year old is also a citizen of Canada and the USA. He has three passports that allow him to be a legal citizen of the three mentioned countries.

Elon Musk has always been outspoken and his reaction to the news showed that he did not put much thought into it. He is among the team that believes they can build a life outside earth with his SpaceX company trying to invent ships and creating an environment in Space that can support human life.
