The cabinet secretary of education professor George Magoha has made a major announcement ahead of schools reopening. The education CS affirmed that all teachers should Undergo covid-19 test before the reopening of schools in a bold bid to contain covid-19 virus.

The government had shut up all the Educational institutions in an effort to curb the spread of covid-19 pandemic in the country. Students were forced to stay at home until schools reopening.

The Ministry of education in conjunction with the government of Kenya had scheduled to reopen Educational institutions in September but the effort seems to be impossible due to existing situation.

Reports outlines that most schools doesn’t have adequate facilities that would cater for covid-19 measures. The CS Magoha had affirmed all classroom to have a carrying capacity of 15 to 20 students as a measure to combat covid-19 ahead of schools reopening but his measures seems to be impossible due to inadequacy of facilities in schools.


Reports further outlines that schools might fail to open in September as scheduled as bold strategies haven’t laid out for protection of students against covid-19.
