Education CS Prof Magoha Changes Tune On Schools Reopening

The Education Cabinet Secretary Professor George Magoha has asserted that he will advise not to open schools if covid-19 infections keeps rising. The government had closed all the Educational institutions in a bid to curb the spread of covid-19. Students were forced to curtail their studies and return home.

However, the government announced the reopening of schools on September where by it’s embracing it’s effort to ensure students will be safe through prior preparation on preventive measures against covid-19 among students.

Magoha had recently announced covid-19 measures they have laid out that should be adhered upon Schools reopening. Prof Magoha highlighted that students will be given 2 masks and each classroom should have a carrying capacity of 15 to 20 students.

On his directives, Kenyans Terribly reacted to professor Magoha asserting that he’s endangering the lives of childrens since the effective strategies haven’t laid out to curb with covid-19 ahead of schools reopening. They further claimed that some of the schools are used as quarantine centers and may contract with children if not properly fumigated.

 

However, the Education CS Prof Magoha has cleared the air upon schools reopening if covid-19 cases continues to rise.

Magoha affirmed that he will advice not to open schools when the infections from the disease are rising. Magoha ascertains that, they will propose school clusters to be attached to a health facility before reopening.


“I will advise not to open schools when the infections from the disease are rising. We propose that school clusters be attached to a health facility before we can open,” Prof Magoha stated .
