Details Emerges As Manchester City Jumps To Number 3 In The League Table

England sensation Phil Foden was the man of the match as Manchester City jumped up to third in the league table. According to the Manchester Evening News on Wednesday January 13, Foden scored the only goal of the match as the Citizens beat Brighton and Holve Albion.
Phil Foden scored the goal in the 41st minute after a neatly worked pass from Kevin DeBryune. The Belgian found the Englishman easily for Foden to slot in a near post finish.
The goal took Foden to 8 goals in all competitions this season. This milestone also makes him City’s top scorer this season.
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola had words of praise for the Englishman after the game. “You look at his age and the numbers he’s getting and he’s just phenomenal, ” Guardiola said.
“He lives a 24 hour life that revolves around football, ” the manager revealed.
City moved to third in the table with 32 points. They’re tied with Leicester City but with a better goal difference. They’re 4 points off the top with neighbors Manchester United leading the table.
Liverpool take the second spot with 33 points. City will now face Crystal Palace on Super Sunday with a showdown between table toppers Manchester United and Liverpool taking place on the same day.
