Bongo flavor artiste Darassa, on Christmas Eve launched his album at a charity event he organized for orphans. Darassa took the opportunity to provide funds to children’s homes that were invited to the event. As Darassa launched his album “Slave Becomes King”, he vowed to direct part of the funds from his album sales to the needy, including the children’s homes which were invited to the album launch event.

Darassa stated that he took his time working on the songs in the album, which took 3 years to complete. Slave becomes king has 21 songs by Darassa and also features other artistes. Among some of the collaborations in the album is the already released single “I Like It” that features Sho Madjozi. There are many other collaborations in the album, which are yet to be released, such as “Boss It”” featuring Ben Pol, “Usiniletee shida” featuring Femi One and “Loyalty” featuring Marioo and Nandy. With such adorable features in the album, Darassa is expected to deliver maximum satisfaction to his fans.

Darassa whose birth names are Shariff Thabit Ramadhani was raised by a single mother, which bore his passion to care for orphans. He spent most time of his life in studios, as he believed in his musical talents. Initially, he started performing in parties before he started selling his music in albums. His last album “Darassa VS Ben Pol” released in 2017, received positive reviews from marketing analysts. Most of the songs in Darassa’s last album received proper airplay on TV and radio, which he still enjoys to date.

At first Darassa started recording at AM Studios with producer Manecky before he later met producer Mr. T touch and much later producer Abbah. Although Darassa felt in tune with Abbah’s beats, he also worked with Mr. T touch in Slave Becomes King. Producer Mr. T touch not only produced songs in the album but was also featured as an artist. On his part, Darassa said he wasn’t picking or choosing producers and had no differences with them, as he worked with the producers who were available to him at the moment.
