Devolution cabinet secretary Eugene Wamalwa is having a rough time as Tangatanga allies point their guns to him. These comes barely a day after a group of leaders especially from the western region held a closed door meeting in his home.Among the leaders that attended the meeting are Central Organization Of Trade Unions (COTU) secretary general Francis Atwoli, Kakamega governor Wycliffe Oparanya and the Devolution Cs Eugene Wamalwa.
Pro Ruto allies from the region have come out attacking thenregion will full back up the deputy president.Led by former Kakamega senator Bony Khalwale and Kimilili mp Didmus Barasa, the two confidants of the dp wanted what was done to former Agricultural CS Mwangi Kiunjuri be done to Wamalwa. Kiunjuri was sacked in what was alleged to be engaging in politics while in office and this threatening the big four agenda.
It is alleged that Baringo senator Gideon Moi held a meeting with some leaders trying to strengthen his bid for finding supremacy both in the rift valley and the nation at large. The senators communication aide Alex Koprotich said that the meeting involved discussions on the Building Bridges Initiative and how KANU with other like minded parties like ODM could work together ahead of the next general elections in 2022.
“The discussion centred on current political happenings, the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) and how KANU, Jubilee and other like-minded parties like ODM can work together ahead of 2022,” Kiorotich said.
The meeting has been criticised by the pro Tangatanga’s allies through their twitter account.Khalwale has not been in good terms with the Luhya leaders for they are divided with one team for Ruto and the other for Raila. The leaders had also initially held a similar meeting at Atwoli’s home in Kitengela.
Gideon Moi is under pressure to restore the pride of KANU by leading them into government. Moi with Ruto are all fighting for supremacy as witnessed in their regions. It is however not yet clear if Moi will be on the ballot come 2022.
