Class 8, Grade 4 And Form 4 Exam Postponed As Students Tested Covid-19 Positive

The Kenya National Examination council (KNEC) has postponed the assessment test for grade 4, class 8 and form four due to Mashujaa holiday to be held on Tuesday 20th October 2020 in Kisii County.

According to Mercy Karogo the Chief Executive Officer of KNEC, the assessment test that was scheduled to kick off on Monday has been shifted to Wednesday after Mashujaa day celebration on Tuesday. KNEC has issued a circular to all headteachers across the country.

The government had resumed learning for grade four, class eight and form four Learners when covid-19 curve flattens across the country. According to Ministry of education, the educational institutions shall upon in phases in a bid of curtailing further spread of covid-19.

However, as schools reopened, cases of covid-19 positive cases have been reported in diverse educational institutions as the cases across the country seem to kick off increasing drastically. According to health CS Mutahi Kagwe, the cases have shifted from 4 per cent to 12 per cent since the covid-19 curved flattened.
