Chelsea were winners at home to Newcastle as they maintained their resurgence. According to Sky Sports on Tuesday February 16, Chelsea won the game 2-0.

Misfiring Timo Werner made sure he got his mojo back when he scored in the game. The German international had gone for 14 games without scoring.

Werner started off a wonderful performance by drilling in a low cross that found Giroud who slotted home early in the first half.

Giroud, who had replaced the injured Tammy Abraham, scored his 100th goal of the bench in his career.

Timo Werner then went forth himself and scored in the 31st minute to give Chelsea full control of the game before halftime.

Chelsea now move to fourth, just 4 points of second place. Runaway leaders Manchester City still maintained their gap as Manchester United failed to win against West Brom over the weekend.
