Ngong commuters were on Wednesday morning left stranded as matatus failed to show up. The travellers were left wondering how to get to their work places as no matatu showed up to pick them.
Reports by the media on Wednesday February 10 revealed that the entry of a new Sacco in the region was the problem. Super Metro, which plies various routes had announced entry.
This announcement did not sit well with most of the usual matatu operators in the area and that is why they failed to show up for work.
Super Metro had stated over the weekend that they would be taking on a new route starting this week. They disclosed that their Sacco would join the Ngong route as part of their expansion.
This angered most Ngong matatus who now saw this as an unwanted competition. Super Metro are known for their efficient services and order that is always lacking with other matatu Sacco’s.
