The Deputy President Dr William Ruto faced a major setback when the police stopped his visit to Nyamira County last week.
The government faced sharp criticism for having double standards when it comes to enforcing the laws against the public gathering, this is because leaders allied to the handshake have been allowed to host meetings without disruption.

October 13th, the police changed tune on Ruto’s economic empowerment meetings that are expected to happen this week.

According to a letter from Nyamira Police Station Ward Commander Mohamed Sasura to West Mugirango MP Vincent Kemosi the Deputy President Dr William Ruto has been allowed to attend the Nyamira Boda Boda Sacco fundraising.

This came after the organizers of the event confirmed that they will ensure all protocols are followed.
On the hand Keroka Police Station OCS Elam Esendi informed the Nyamasebe SDA church Pastor Richard Nyaribari that request to have the deputy president to be in charge of his fundraising has been allowed.
When it seemed impossible to have the meeting last week the deputy president William Ruto announced the meeting postponing to this week.
