Big Blow To Matatu Operators As Relocation From CBD Postponed

The relocation of PSVs from the Central Business District in Nairobi has been postponed. According to Citizen Digital on Thursday January 14, the tedious process has been pushed to end of January 2021.
This comes as the Nairobi Metropolitan Service struggle to create other termini to host the numerous matatus in the city.
NMS reported that they are still waiting on the completion of the Green Park termini that is being worked on at Railways club. This termini is expected to hold 110 matatus.
Another termini is also being built at the junction of Bunyala and Workshop road. This termini will have all PSV plying Mombasa road.
PSV heading to Mt Kenya region will now park at Desai and Park road terminal. They will now be moved from their usual Tea Room location.
The Muthurwa terminal will remain in place as it hosts all matatus using Jogoo road.
This move is aimed at decongesting the city and making it easier to access. It is yet to be seen how the whole process unflods.
