Bad News To MCAS On Cars, Uhuru’s Govt Changes Tune

President Uhuru Kenyatta promised the members of the various counties that they will get car grants if they pass the Building bridges initiative report.
Already some counties have voted for the report with more expected to sail through Bill on Tuesday next week.
Raila Odinga is very optimistic that before the end of the week they would have attained the required minimum number of counties for the bill to proceed to the next level.
While addressing Residents of Iten Elgeyo Marakwet, Deputy president Dr William warned against the government’s move to borrow funds unnecessary.
The members of the various county assemblies will have to wait for more time than expected in order to access Uhuru’s Sh4.5 Billion car grants.
Even though the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC) chair Lynn Mengich gave a leeway for the MCAS to be given the cars, Controller of Budge raised very disturbing concerns that will make the car grant implementation slow.
Another cause of alarm was clearly outlined in a letter which sent to SRC Chief Executive Officer Ann Gitau by the Controller of Budget Margaret Nyakango, that outlined some counties had already gone for car loans which was partly funded.
