After a disappointing start to the season, Arsenal captain Pierre Emerick Aubameyang was back to his best. The Gabon international scored twice to take The Gunners to 10th in the table.

Newcastle United did not prove a worthy opponent as they were dismantled in the second half. Aubameyang came close in the first half but failed to score.

A break came in the second half when the captain finally broke the deadlock. In the 50th minute after a brilliant build up from the team, Aubameyang scored Arsenal’s first goal.

Arsenal’s breakout star Bukayo Saka also slotted in the second goal ten minutes later exposing a weak Newcastle United defense.

Aubameyang finished his brace when he scored Arsenal’s third in the 77th minute. The win took Arsenal one spot up as they are moved from 11th to 10th.

This came as one of their best players officially left the team. Mesut Ozil left Arsenal to join Turkish side Fernabache on a free move.

Ozil had earlier said goodbye to his teammates ahead of completing the move.
