6 Things Witnessed In Manchester City’s 1-0 Win Against Brighton

On Wednesday, January 13, Manchester City welcomed Brighton at the Etihad Stadium for a premier league clash. The match was not so easy for the Citizens despite being at home since they won with a narrow margin.
They managed to beat their visitors Brighton 1-0 and take away the three points. They are now in third position in the premier league table with 32 points while Brighton are in position 17 with 14 points. What was witnessed in that match is as follows.
1. Phil Foden’s goal.
Phil Foden put Man City in front in the 44th minute when he scored the only goal in the match. He was assisted by their captain Kevin De Bruyne.
2. Man City’s zero cards.
Man City players played in a calm manner. No one of them was booked by the referee for any serious foul against Brighton players.
3. Man City’s clean sheet.
The Citizens were able to maintain their 1-0 clean sheet all through to the end of the match. Their defence was steady not to allow Brighton get a goal.
4. Sterling’s missed penalty.
Raheem Sterling missed the chance to double Man City’s win towards the final whistle. He took a penalty in the added time but the shot went wide. City were awarded that penalty after Brighton’s goalkeeper Robert Sanchez tripped Kevin De Bruyne.
5. Robert Sanchez’s saves.
Brighton goalkeeper was on his best form despite his team losing to Man City. He managed to make 5 good saves that prevented his team from conceding more.
6. Man City’s ball possession.
Manchester City dominated in terms of ball possession as compared to Brighton. They finished the game with a ball possession of 65%.
