5 Things Witnessed As Manchester City Beat PSG 2-0 To Reach Champions League Finals

Manchester City made history on the night of Tuesday, May 4 when they trashed Paris Saint Germain (PSG) at Etihad Stadium in the UEFA Champions League semi final and reached the finals for the first time ever. They beat their visitors PSG 2-0 therefore edging them out with a goal aggregate of 4-1.

That was a great performance for Man City who are looking stronger this season. They tried all the best they could and it really paid back. They will play against Chelsea or Real Madrid in the finals. Some of the things witnessed in that match are as follows.

1.Riyad Mahrez’s brace.
Riyad Mahrez inspired Manchester City to the finals after bagging a brace in that thrilling match. He gave City the lead early in the 11th minute which they maintained till half time. In the second half he doubled the lead. He scored in the 63th minute after receiving a fantastic assist from Phil Foden. Mahrez has been a very important player for Man City in the semi final having scored 3 out of the 4 goals in the two semi final encounters.

2. Di Maria’s red card.
PSG were reduced to ten men after Angel Di Maria was sent off in the 69th minute. The referee showed him a red card after a violent conduct against Fernadinho. The VAR was involved and after reviewing, the referee confirmed the awarded card.

3. Man City’s clean sheet.
Man City’s defence tried their very best to stop PSG from scoring even a single goal. They defended with all they had and ensured that City kept the 2-0 clean sheet till the end of the match.

4. PSG’s ball possession.
PSG tried their level best to possess the ball. They finished the match with a ball possession of 55%. Despite having a good ball possession, they were not able to register even a single shot on target in the entire 90 minutes.

5. Keylor Navas’ saves.
PSG’s goalkeeper Keylor Navas tried his best to rescue his team by making very crucial saves. He made a total of 3 saves.
