Murathe Delivers Good News To Ruto Amidst Party Leadership Removal

The deputy president Dr William Ruto has a hurdle to cross on his position as the deputy party leader following reports to strip him his powers.
Uhuru Kenyatta halted the removal of Dr Ruto from his position after division emerged amongst the top officials.
The two leaders who were close allies in 2017 have had a sour relationship after the former prime minister Raila Odinga’s handshake with Uhuru Kenyatta.
Jubilee vice chairman in an interview revealed that what made them to consider postponing the removal of Ruto was the mourning of the late Tanzanian President Dr John Pombe Magufuli.
Murathe said that Ruto’s removal from the party leadership will not affect his position as the deputy president of the republic of Kenya.
President Uhuru’s confidant confirmed the position of the National management council to remove the deputy president Dr William Ruto remains as decided.
“We have put everything on ice in honour of Magufuli and out of respect for our partnership with Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM). Everything is on hold until we finish mourning Magufuli,” said Murathe.
What contributed to the removal of Ruto from the party leadership is his open defiance against the the party.
Ruto’s faction created the UDA party that has contested in the recently concluded by-elections such as Matungu, Kabuchai and London Ward.
