Jubilation As Theses Kenyans To Be Given Covid-19 Vaccines

On Monday the number of Covid-19 in the country rose to 70,804 after 559 people tested positive from 3,074 samples tested in the last 24 hours.

The health ministry health cabinet secretary announced that the deaths rose to 1,287 after 18 more patients succumb to the virus whereas 478 discharged after full recovery.

The government is struggling to handle the rise in the number of covid-19 cases in the country as many people have succumbed to the virus.

Reports from the health officers indicate that most ICU facilities are full to the brim and there is a need for the government to take a drastic action to curb the number of Infections.

Geneva based alliance Gavi say that they have already acquired funds to purchase for 20% of the Kenyan population.

The health workers in country should expect to get doses of Covid-19 Vaccines by early 2021 which will protect them in their line of duty.

Health Experts across the whole world are confident that by 2021 some Covid-19 Vaccines that have been undergoing testing will have been approved.

According to a report by Star digital news paper, billion ($2 billion) has been set aside to guarantee at least one billion doses of vaccines for 92 developing countries, which includes Kenya.

Gavi has already identified some vaccines that are expected to used which includes /University of Oxford (Phase III), USA’s Inovio (phase II), Novavax (Phase II), Moderna (Phase III) and France’s Institut Pasteur (preclinical).
